What is involved in Office Ergonomic Assessments?
During onsite office ergonomic assessment, the ergonomic specialist will observe and analyze the employee at their workstation, identifying any potential work-related injury risks.
Following the evaluation, within two weeks, and OSHA-compliant report will be put together with recommendations to reduce risk, improve working postures and suggest ergonomic equipment if needed.
Also included in the Office Ergonomic Assessment, the ergonomic specialist will:
- Ensure the employee has a proper sitting posture
- Check that employee fully understands how to adjust their chair to work more comfortably.
- Suggest improvements to workstation design and layout (as needed)
- Explain optimum keying and mousing postures to avoid injuries
- Correct layout of equipment at the workstation and educate the employee on neutral body position.
- Assess lighting issues and monitor glare
- Educate about work organization (i.e., adequate pacing of tasks, frequent changes in the type of task)
- Educate on Microbreaks and stretches to reduce muscle fatigue
What are the Benefits of an Office Ergonomic Assessment?
Our ergonomic services create a safer, more comfortable working environment where we train your employees to be more mindful of their posture and safety. This allows them to become more efficient, make fewer errors, and be more productive.
Another benefit of an office ergonomic assessment is that it can help decrease lost workdays, Worker’s Compensation costs, and costs per claim. When you have a safe working environment, employees feel greater job satisfaction, which naturally boosts morale and retention.
